Hey guys!
Been Thinking of something. Now that theres no more attunment requried for TK, shouldent we give the Void Reaver a few tries? (when we are ready, willing and able) instead of running to Gruuls and getting destroyed on a "bad" pull?
He's called the Loot Reaver cause he is kinda easy compared to many other bosses in the latter stages of the game, and he drops the Tier 5 shoulders...
...so what do ya think guys?
Best regards Gangsta, Thinking out loud |

Sorry to say, but you won't defeat "loot" reaver soon. There is need for a lot of DPS since the enrage timer is really a jerk. Also a lot of practising is needed to avoid the bolts he is shooting. We whiped very fast the first attempts. Al'ar is easier then void reaver in my opinion. But that can also come because we have a high dps group en very good geared tanks at this moment.
I suggest however to keep trying on high king. He ain't that hard. The pull is just the most important of that instance.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info Ralph!
Just seems that there is alot of diffrent opions about how hard this guy is. A work mate of mine gave me this tip, according to him, if you can clear kara, then you can take him out. He's on BT with his guild himself.
But i dont know, havent been there myself, so my opinon dosent really count
But it was just an idea, carry on people
Best Regards Gangsta

I do not worry about the boss himself. He is really easy indeed. I do however worry about the trash. The trash groups before the boss took us a lot of whiping all the time. And we are still doing the whipes on the trash. But good luck! |

Have to agree with ralph here, this boss is way to hard for a guild of your gear lvl, you should have been farming gruul for sometime before even trying him, this is on of the bosses who are very easy, but he gets damn hard if not everyone pay attention thrue the whole fight.
Not the archers. My scouts tell me their archers are miles away and no threat to us. Arrows cost money. Use up the Irish. The dead cost nothing

Void reaver would not really fall into the Hard category. The only thing that is required is 25 people that have raid dps specs. Of course, he does has 4.5 million hit points, and you have 10 minutes to kill him, but im fairly sure the average dps class could churn out 300k damage in 10 minutes, right?
The raid set up is most important, and not to have more than 3 of each class if possible. One of each spec and correct group organisation to boost the massive dpsers, and of course having awareness to live until the end.
The only real issue is having tanks that can gain sustained threat when not gaining unlimited rage, as this is often the problem. One or two tanks not pushing hard enough for aggro in the early stages mean the dpsers pull aggro in the later stages.
Added to this, bleed effects, poisons and a few other things wont work, so it is DIRECT damage that counts, forget about arms buffs for melee dps, or hunter stings.
To try would be expensive, as my hunter went through 3 mana pots a wipe, and each run goes through maybe 20-30, a lot of deaths, and 10 of each buff potion of choice (flasks? bah). More time would make it easier, but 25 man raid specs would do the work that consumables can, and consumables can do the work that gear can. It would be a guild effort to get the most out of each person possible, but it is doable. |

This is indeed a nice post. Very very postive attitude and you may be right. Void reaver nees some practice before it will be defeated but it is nice to see something different things in the game then Karazhan all the time. But anyway I guess you will defeat gruul pretty soon. 18% left on his health bar. Not bad at all. I should say focus on his defeat and progress to The Eye then. "Loot reaver" is waiting for you. I can hear him shouting!
Once again good luck!
Ow and Reefus how are you doing?

(4.5*10^9)dmg/(15person*10min*60s/min) = 500dmg/s per person assuming 15 dps'ers.
To account for deaths to orbs, and time lost dodging orbs, and we are looking at what? 600?
Can YOU do 600 dps against a boss level mob? Go test it on Dr. Boom(quest mob in netherstorm with shitloads of health), he's not boss level, but if your +hit is near max it doesn't matter. If it's not, you have to do a bit more.
I tested mine some weeks ago, oh, and you don't have to KILL him, I just did it cause I had the flu and was bored(if someone beats 13 minutes let me know):

Oh and I am always happy to help out a fellow warlock if you a struggling to reach as high dps as you want to. Well, I'm willing to help anyone, but I don't know anything about other classes than warlocks.
If you have: casting rotation / gear / spec / girl problems, catch me in game or send me a letter
Edit: girl problems mean problems WITH girls, not feminine hygiene
Edit: OHHH and Al'ar got buffed today =/ also, can anyone make the flasks of pure death? (old flask of major shadow prot.)
