My screen is flimmering very badly, I've tried all the things I can think of to fix it, but it won't get better.
List over failed attempts:
1. Restarting computer
2. Change of resolution and colour quality
3. Change of hardware acceleration
4. Latest driver installed,
5. Checking for viruses, spyware,
There is one thing I ain't having any trouble with however. And that is films I run on the computer, they never have problems. But anything else does.
My mate says that my graphics card might be done for, is he right?
The card is a ATI Radeon 9800 SE which is about 3-4 years old.

I still maintain you should hit it... if that doesn't work, hit it with a hammer... |

At a complete guess , and if I understand the word "flimmering" properly I would say your graphics card is getting a bit to warm.
Have you checked the fan on the graphics card is still spinning fast enough and is unclogged?.
Either that or your refresh rate is set to something like 15 |

I had problem with a flickering screen and when I added another fan the problem disappeared. So Reefus could be right.
