This is for anyone who is currently living in u.k,is a virgin media customer and wants to know the status of the free upgrade to 100mb broadband:

Engineer is coming round mine monday to install the new router coz my current one cant handle the ZOMG speed!Bit gutted that apparently I have to pay for bloody router and new customers dont but hey ho!

i know they are rolling out upgrades like if you have 20mb you will ge 40mb if you have 50mb you will be given 100mb im happy with what they will be giving me not that i will see the 40mb as il get like 3mb per sec when i download better then the 2,2mb i get atm

Ring em up joe.I rang em about somthing else and they said "did you know we can upgrade you for free now!"So just went with it.
Cant wait coz i do alot of downloading,Currently I get 6mb per second using uttorent so now i should get like 12mb per sec lol madness

I got a letter too. It's not that we are all getting free upgrade to 100MB broadband though.
From what I understand its a case of getting our speeds doubled. So if you had 30MB, you will get upgrade to 60MB etc etc - Still pretty ****ing sweet though!

There doubling everyones speed from what it currently is, users on 50mb are going upto 100mb then in another load of upgrades they are going to 120mb for freeeee, the current 100mb users will also go upto 120mb and it will be the same price as the current 50mb.
You can check when you should recieve your free upgrade here, get mine between april and july this year  !

Ye they are double dutching everyone,but I made thread for the imba 100meg people I dont care about the lowbie users they should bow down to my godly connection.
I kinda got a lil shafted coz the guy led me to belive that the engineer that came round on monday was doing the free upgrade thing,I thought it was kinda weird that I had to pay for router.
Engineer(that installed it for me) told me If i wait till april Id get it all for free but now ive got it I aint getting rid.I did complain and got half price knocked off.
But fyi I also got told by virgin If it says they coming to you in april or whatever it can be anything from 2 months after that.
1000mb BB will be out soon.When I uploaded my results on speedtest.net I saw some universitys and **** have already uploaded speeds of 998MBper sec downloads.You would be able to download like 10 seasons of smallvillle in a minute with those speeds.Good times ahead.

if you get the full whack it sounds awesome, I only get about a third of what i pay for on average. Criminal imo.
