Hey guys... don't know how much you all have tried out roleplaying like dungeons and dragons, but i've tried my share of roleplaying up through the years, and i loved it. Bring out the pen and paper, some dice and a creative storyline and you have hours of fun ahead of you... chuck in a few beers and some good food and you'll have a hell of a time with some interesting encounters to say the least.
I just fell across this video earlier, and although it still looks a bit primitive, imagine the possibilities of this thing! Would put a whole new concept into the idea of home entertainment for the whole family and/or friends.
Looks pretty cool

Dust - Level 85 paladin (Ret)
Antique - Level 85 druid (Feral dps/pvp resto)
Komodo - Level 82 Rogue (DPS... if you can call it that)
Azâzel - Level 85 Shaman (Restoration/DPS)

This surfacescape board looks very expensive, so even though it looks fun most of us won't be playing on one anytime soon.

Won't take long before this sort of technology is booming and it'll get cheaper for every day its out there, as with all things. Imagine us buying a computer 10 years ago... wasn't exactly cheap, but today everyone has one. Not saying that Microsoft are gonna take the whole market here, but the fact that they are experimenting with it and already have quite a few of these out in the public (for example at the Shereton Hotels) shows people the possibilities. Imagine having this thing as a table in the kitchen with a scratch resistant glass top. Can imagine you buying groceries on it, check your mail, go on the internet and check for recipes while controlling the music you're playing. I don't think this thing is too far into the future.
Here's the url to the actual homepage of the product. The previous link i put up was just a concept program that a group of students tested on the Microsoft Surface.

Hmm, looks interesting!
I've played alot of pen and paper and my concerns towards this is that it will kinda ruin all the "good stuff" about pen and paper. I mean, nothing beats the resolution and graphics going on in the heads round that pen and paper table =)
But it definately looks cool!

Loved this,I am a big board game fan and thought this looked amazing. Like Val said, the applications go far further than just DnD, I can't help wonder how long it will be before we all have one =) |

Looks very good but £10,000 is probably a bit out of my price range. |
