Probably in patch 2.4.2 or maby later in in WotLK they are going to change the trinkets that increases the mount speed.
Look at this picture, can you still remember the good old Carrot on a stick?
The Carrot on a stick is even crafteble, you will need Simple Wood x1,
Fine Thread x1, and Golden Sansam x1.
This is also gonna happen with the other trinkets like Riding Crop, Skybreaker Whip and even the Charm of Swift Flight (druid trinket)

how do u enchant ur mount with the carrot? Because it gave me some nice thoughts like putting it up the mounts behind
