I would say that the minimum you must have is Omen, Deadly Boss Mod and Ctmod or something the same.

No those are the minimum Angel. Ct_raid is a real bad mod in my opinion. The replacement for that mod is oRA2 and Grid. Ct_raid has some huge memory issues and it seems that the ct team is not willing to fix this problem. It can happen that you lag because of ct_raid. So that is why I advice oRA2 and Grid.
The rest is required aswell for a good basic addon. However you might skip XRS. That is more a raidleader issue.

Dmg meter is not realy a must because ppl can be to focused on the dmg meter, but on the other hand you can see who are slacking then.

Did they fix the distance bug already? Personally i had some trouble with recount because it would not collect all data. I use swstats because it gives better nummers. but i have to admit that recount can give more data that can be usefull in raids like a grim reaper like list for example a MT
I played Classic until I was nearly level 60. It needs The Burning Crusade really for me though. I am lurking around Daggerspine again for a while, trying to get used to the changes lol
